Aplio/Phone Upgrade Guide

If you own an Aplio/Phone, you can upgrade to the latest version for free! Simply follow the steps below.

Before Upgrading

If you have Call Waiting, you must disable it before you begin the upgrade process. In the U.S. and Canada, follow these instructions:

For Aplio/Phone Version 1.5 and above:
Enter extended mode and select the option to automatically block Call Waiting.

For Aplio/Phones Prior to Version 1.5:
To block Call Waiting, add 80 07 00 82 before your Internet access number. For example, if your access number is 555-1212, press 1 from the Main Options menu and then press the following keys :

STAR 80 07 00 82 followed by the two-digit codes of your Internet access number : 05 05 05 01 02 01 02 #.

Upgrading

1. Pick up the receiver on the telephone attached to your Aplio/Phone.
2. Press the Eco-Config button twice.
The Eco-Config light will blink and you will hear the Main Options menu voice prompts.
3. When prompted, press 0 on your telephone keypad to enter extended configuration mode.
You will hear "Enter parameter code, followed by the pound key."
If you hear "Invalid Code", then press 5 instead of 0.
4. Press 9 9 9 #.
The Aplio and Eco-Config buttons will flash again, but at a slower rate.
You will hear "Upgrade in progress, please wait… You may hang up now."
5. Hang up your telephone.

The download process should take between 15 and 30 minutes. The duration of the upgrade process may vary based on a number of factors including the quality of the phone line, Internet traffic and where you are calling from.

If the upgrade process is successful, your phone will ring. When you answer it, the voice prompt will say, "Upgrade successful" and the Aplio and Eco-Config lights will turn off.

If an error occurred, the Aplio and Eco-Config lights will flash rapidly for several seconds. The phone will ring and you will hear an error message when you answer it. Write down the error message and check the Troubleshooting section of the User Guide for more information.
