Configuration Worksheet

Use this worksheet and the chart below to prepare your Internet account information for Aplio/Phone configuration.

All configuration for the Aplio/Phone is done via the telephone keypad. Before starting, fill in your ISP phone number, user name and password and convert them to the codes shown below. Remember, if your user name or password contains only numbers, you do not need to convert it into codes or press the kp_asterix.gif (131 bytes) key before entering it into your Aplio/Phone configuration.

For example, your user name Jsmith98. Fill in the following:

Note that you start with the kp_asterix.gif (131 bytes) key to indicate to the Aplio/Phone that you will be entering the two-digit codes and you finish with a kp_pound.gif (128 bytes). Enter:
kp_asterix.gif (131 bytes)  kp_1.gif (129 bytes) kp_9.gif (128 bytes)  kp_5.gif (128 bytes) kp_8.gif (129 bytes)  kp_5.gif (128 bytes) kp_2.gif (129 bytes)  kp_4.gif (129 bytes) kp_8.gif (129 bytes)  kp_5.gif (128 bytes) kp_9.gif (128 bytes)  kp_4.gif (129 bytes) kp_7.gif (126 bytes)  kp_0.gif (129 bytes) kp_9.gif (128 bytes)  kp_0.gif (129 bytes) kp_8.gif (129 bytes) kp_pound.gif (128 bytes)

Now, pick up your telephone receiver and press the eco_sm.gif (255 bytes) button twice in quick succession. Listen to the Main Options menu.

The first option you hear is "To enter your Internet access phone number, dial 1." Press kp_1.gif (129 bytes), then enter the ISP phone number as you would normally dial it from your telephone.

1. ISP Phone Number

kp_pound.gif (128 bytes) (Use prefix if necessary, i.e. 9)

After you enter the phone number (and kp_pound.gif (128 bytes) to finish) the voice prompt will be recite it back to you. If it is correct, press kp_asterix.gif (131 bytes) to confirm and return to the Main Options menu. If it is not correct, press kp_3.gif (129 bytes) to re-enter it. If you need to hear it again, press kp_2.gif (129 bytes).

Back at the Main Options menu, press kp_2.gif (129 bytes) to enter your user name. Remember to start by pressing kp_asterix.gif (131 bytes) key if your username contains even one character that is not a number.

2. User Name

kp_asterix.gif (131 bytes)  kp_pound.gif (128 bytes)

When you press the kp_pound.gif (128 bytes) key, the voice prompt will recite the user name you have entered. If it is correct, press kp_1.gif (129 bytes) to confirm it and return to the Main Options menu. If it is not correct, press kp_3.gif (129 bytes) to re-enter it. If you need to hear it again, press kp_2.gif (129 bytes).

Back at the Main Options menu, press kp_3.gif (129 bytes) to enter your password.

3. Password

kp_asterix.gif (131 bytes)  kp_pound.gif (128 bytes)

When you press the kp_pound.gif (128 bytes) key, the voice prompt will recite the password you have entered. If it is correct, press kp_1.gif (129 bytes) to confirm it and return to the Main Options menu. If it is not correct, press kp_3.gif (129 bytes) to re-enter it. If you need to hear it again, press kp_2.gif (129 bytes).

If your Internet access type is type 1 (the default) then you are done!

If you need to change your Internet access type, press kp_4.gif (129 bytes) at the Main Options menu. Enter your Internet access type, followed by the pound key.

4. Internet Access Type

kp_pound.gif (128 bytes)

When you press the kp_pound.gif (128 bytes) key, the voice prompt will recite the Internet access type you have entered. If it is correct, press kp_1.gif (129 bytes) to confirm it and return to the Main Options menu. If it was not correct, press kp_3.gif (129 bytes) to re-enter it. If you need to hear it again, press kp_2.gif (129 bytes).

Remember to conduct a test to make sure your configuration is correct.

Pick up the receiver, listen for the dial tone and press eco_sm.gif (255 bytes) twice. While listening to the Main Menu options, press the apliobtn_sm.gif (329 bytes) button to begin a self-test.

The voice prompt will tell you to hang up.

DO NOT HANG UP UNTIL PROMPTED TO DO SO.

In about a minute your telephone will ring. When you answer it, the voice prompt will tell you "Test successful." After the test is completed, simply hang up.

If the test was unsuccessful, the voice prompt will give you an error message. Verify that you entered your Internet account information correctly. See Problems and Solutions, for further information on error messages. If you continue to experience problems, contact Aplio support.
